I was asked liike "what moral values could you get from the movie Men of Honor?". I don't know what to say.

None. Moral values come from example and from working and living together --entertainment like the movies is too passive a medium to instill something of this importance.

Only when entertainment reaches the level of catharsis itself can it have the impact required to morally instruct or uplift.

Moral values are those traits against which people measure right and wrong. They go far beyond such things as intelligence and education and talent. In the movie you were asked about, DeNero and Gooding displayed moral values such as character, and integrity, and perseverance. They had the courage of their convictions, and were willing to risk their careers for what they believed in. I don't know how to explain it any better than that. I hope it helps.
