When I see a shark or anything under water, it's just that I'm scared. I go crazy. I start moaning and grab my head. Then , I feel like my leg is about to get eaten or that I'm about to drop into the ocean with sharks. Is this a phobia?

A phobia is generally an intense irrational fear, or like a fear of something most don't find scary. Like an intense fear of the color green, hair ties, or toes. It is totally normal to be afraid of sharks. I do think that you do have some sort of problem if the fear affects you the way it does. And since your feelings are quite intense and a little irrational (if you have never been attacked by a shark), then I think it would be a phobia, or some sort of anxiety issue linked to problems you may have "under the surface" that you may not know how to deal with. You may feel like they are pulling you down, and maybe even taking over parts of you. Maybe your fear of sharks, or these "shark anxiety episodes" is your subconscience trying to tell you something is wrong.

Yes orcourse its a phobia...coz people normally dont get scared seeing sharkes under water....

unless you have actually been attacked by a shark, then it is a phobia(seachophobia) which an irrational fear of some thing in you're case sharks. unless you live by the sea or deal with lots of Realtors, you have nothing to worry about.

Get some professional help. Go for counselling. You need it. I also do not like shark , especially I hate to see its big tail when it dives in the water.
