I have heard stories about workers not just drinking but getting high on all kinds of drugs. Often it is just ignored. I am sorry you are fired, but you knew the risks, or should have. Were you the only one? Was it a rule that was loosely enforced and you were the example? This is sometimes the case. You broke company guidelines so there is no recourse, but it could be a case of selective enforcement. I was fired too for drinking a case of beer while being a commercial pilot. Can you believe it? One littlel mistake like that.

I drive the short bus to school and I drink all the time...... the kids are cool they all think it is fun. They get a kick out of it.. I cant wait for school to start back up. There is nothing like driving at 630 in the mourning with a case down your throught sometimes I am soo trashed I forget about those little squirts.... they like that when I forget to pick em up because they dont have to learn and I dont have to take them home.

I do! I work for an entertainment company. It's kind of expected that we DO drink during certain events, especially when DJing or KJing. I usually arrange with the bartenders ahead of time to give me just plain old Diet Coke (so that lots of people can "buy me drinks" and I won't have to drink that much alcohol). People think I'm drinking Rum & Coke, etc. I do occasionally drink it with some rum in it though. :)

Wow...you SHOULD have gotten fired, no offense or anything. Most likely you hated your job anyway, or you wouldn't have felt the need to drink to get through the day. So in all actuality, whomever fired you probably did you a favor.

you are an idiot. you go to work to make money, not to get drunk and risk your job. drinking is for the bar not the work place. People can get hurt by your drunkeness. you deserved to get fired. if you can't go without drinking a work, then you better face the facts that you are an alcoholic and make a trip to AA

Me too! I just got fired for drinking. I valeted cars! They said I smelled like alcohol. No kidding a guy left a cooler full over beer in his truck, i was slammin!

My bf does, he works on a farm and when I go to work with him I do too. Just not in front of the boss. Everyone there does. As long as they are not driving or working on the heavy equipment.
