You should change 20-30% of the water every WEEK.

Use a gravel vacuum to siphon 50% of the gravel every week you do your change. Take out about 20-30% of the water from your tank (that's about 2 or 3 gallons), and dump it out. In a clean bucket that has never been exposed to soap or bleach, fill the bucket up with water that is about the same temperature as your tank (within 2 degrees high or low of the tank's temperature). Use a tap water conditioner to remove chlorine and chloramines (as setting it out for 24-hours will not dissipate all the chlorine, and it won't even start to allow chloramines to start dissipating). And gently pour the water back in the tank.

On a side note, you should start looking for a larger tank (at least 55-gallons) as that "sucker fish" will quickly outgrow that ten-gallon tank.

Good luck!

clean the tank about once a month or maybe every 6 weeks. At first you should clean it every 3-4 weeks because it gets dirty fast. Use the suction tube to pump out water and excrements and wastes from the bottom of the tank. Don't replace all of the water because that kills the good bacteria in the water. Instead replace about 1/3 to 1/2 of it. Dont forget to get rid of the chlorine in the water!

only siphon out 50% of the water. prolly every 2 weeks or so. when you see the water level goin down just fill it to the top. and when the sucker fish gets older it will get lazy, sorry to have to tell you that. i have 2 suckers and they are well over 12 inches and they suck ***. if they come out its to get some light. but when you change the water you should use a water conditioner if your using tap water. it will remove all the impurities in tap water. if its too much for you get a bio wheel filter. those are great. i have 3 filters on my tank and my fish are lovin their life right now.

You should get a small aquarium vacuum and a bucket and remove about 2 gallons every 1 - 2 weeks. Treat the new water for chlorine and add a capful of Cycle. Your aquarium will look nice and the fish will be happy.

about once a month. dont worry, you can change all the water at the same time. it is much cleaner and beta to do so anyway. just treat it alot and on the filter and wait 3 hrs before putting the fish back in. thats how to change all the water sensibly.

clean it thoroughly atleast 2 times a month; but do a minor cleaning weekly. use an algae scrub-brush, and a siphon (a tube that sucks up waste from the bottom of the tank) make sure you go through the rocks on the bottom to clean out all dead skin, excess food, and fecal matter.

once a month and only drain half the water. Make sure that your water is the same temp and add it slowly so not to hurt the fish.

Put about a 1/4 cup of bleach in it once a week. I'll stay crystal clear.
