About a year ago, I got very annoyed by these two parallel moles I had on my left arm and I scratched them off completely. Today I have round darkish red scars and my dermatologist recently prescribed me with Triluma. I asked her if this will definitely do the trick and fade the scars away. She replied with, "it should". This just wasn't insuring enough for me, so I was curious if these scars were permanent and if not, how long will it take for them to fade away after using Triluma once a night. Im also curious if Triluma is even the right medication considering it's purpose is for curing melanoma.

I don't know about Triluma. You should follow your doctor's advice and don't scratch off anymore moles! Melanoma sometimes manifests as a mole.

The doctor's evasive reply to your query was only to be expected. But she could have make it clear to you that one can't remove a mole without leaving some kind of scar. Plastic surgeons cut moles off, but that leaves a scar too.

Your best bet at this point is to have the scars cut out and stitched up. That should leave you with less of a scar.

I feel that you should get a second opinion from a surgically-oriented dermatologist, or from a dermatologist and then a plastic surgeon. I feel you will be likley to get a result which will make you happier than you nor are, even if it's not perfect (and of course you did have moles there to begin with.).

I am not a physician, but I've seen some wonderful results with mole removal in which the cut and cauterize method was used. When there are hairs left, having needle electrolysis seems to normalize the skins texture. When there are no hairs, having dry tattooing will result in a similar return to normal texture. (make sure everyone is using presterilized disposables!) Scars from mole removal seem to be inevitable, but from an esthetic view, a flat lightened spot is much more appealing than a big old mole.

I find that you removed the moles yourself by scratching. I hope they have not raised their heads again. Some moles have that habit thoujgh that does not necessarily mean they are cancerous They are of a particular type. However, moles could as well be cancerous and it would have been better had to hadthem examined from this angle before unceremoniously removing them.

You removed the moles yourself? Ouch. I have gotten 3 moles removed in the past at my dermatologist's office and all 3 have scarred... one of them is more noticable than the others. I don't know if the scars will ever go away, but I would do some research of your own online to figure out what topical medications might be best for you. Good luck.

Skin moles are generally growths that may surface everywhere. Moles can get extracted through surgical procedure, as well as using many do-it-yourself solutions.

Surgery is expensive, charging between $100 to $400 yet it may bring about scars. Home cures are cheap and even can eradicate ugly moles within a few days without having keloids.

Do-it-yourself solutions may inlcude onion, tea tree oil, or maybe fresh pineapple juice applied over a few days.
