The phrase "Goodbye" comes from God be with you. It has been shortened over the years since 16th century. Shakespeare used "God be wy you." The substitution for good for God seems to have been mainly due to the influence of such phrases as " good day" and " good night."

Goodbye is a shortened version of God Bless Ye from the old ages. I guess people just started running the words together until eventually it changed to Goodbye.

We are a selfish bunch, (including me), that we want to keep those we love "here", and not have them enter into Heaven, where the LORD will be waiting for them, as well as us, (who are
"Saved")...

Lets face it, we dont like change! We would like our kids to remain young forever, our Parents to be the way we remember them "as" our Parents, forever and not see anyone grow "OLD"...

But, the LORD said that HE would give us 120 years on the Earth, and thats what we have to accept. Some less than others, as HE dictates when we are to return to HIM...

Be glad that you had what ever time it was, here on Earth with them, and rejoice, when its your turn to "enter the Kingdom", so that you will be with them "forever"...

I wish you well..

Jesse
