I'm fairly new to Yahoo answers and I'm curious as to what age most people are that ask and answer here? Based on some of the questions I see, I'm beginning to think I'm in a teenage chat room. Honest answers would be nice. Heck, nice answers would be nice too.

I agree, with you, and many of us adults, here do, that there are a multitude, of youngsters on here. As evident, by their bad grammar, and even worse spelling.
It would be nice, if Yahoo could split it up into two age groups. but I don't see that happening.
So the best we adults can do, is try to avoid those silly questions, and move to the more literate ones.

Older than anyone who has answered so far. I have a Doctorate and have been teaching for 25 years. I know that there are many other educated people on because I frequently read answers that make sense and show a high degree of maturity. Besides, after one turns 30 or so (sometimes younger) age is really relative. Adults are adults. Any teens that are on this time of night, should be severely reprimanded by their parents unless they are presently out of school.

OK, JT you win, but I'm not far behind. I ignore anything stupid or profane. I only answer questions which I feel deserve a reply.

There are many ages here. Maturity level is more important of a factor for the questions and answers though. You might find some intelligent teens and very immature older adults here among the mix. Usually age and maturity match up pretty well however. Look for intelligent questions and you will do fine if you are looking for the more mature crowd (passed beginning puberty levels). We do exist! Oh, I am 53 (and have a degree and full time job, like kimberly, and don't always sleep through the night). Welcome aboard!

To answer colloquially, "you ain't seen nothin' yet." Stick around for a few weeks....it's just like chat, good questions are rare just like good conversationalists are. You've just got to be willing to mine them out.

I would've been outta here a long time ago, but there are some people asking for advice that I feel (well, know, gotten feedback) that I have truly passed along some decent guidance. That's rewarding.

One thing you should brace yourself for is the seemingly endless chains of different questions that essentially ask the exact same thing. Learn to have patience with that, and you'll be ok here.

Oh, 38 by the way.

I'm 23. I hate seeing all these young kids on here. I don't think anyone under the age of 18 should be allowed on the internet. There are so many perverts out there.

A lot of the people are teenagers, some even as young as ten, but there is a lot of older people too, some are in their forties. There is a wide range of ages, it really depends on what type of questions you go under.
