Depends on what kind of headache it is. Some really bad ones are caused by dehydration, in which case drinking a large glass of water along with some aspirin can really help (for this reason, alcohol can be bad). If its a tension headache, you can often help those by hitting the pressure points along the base of your skull (right where it meets your neck) with your thumb. Place one hand on your forehead, and with the thumb of the other (the dominant) rub along the base. When you feel a spot that is particularly achy, hold it for a bit (until you feel the pain start to subside), and then move on to another tender area. Sinus headaches are best dealt with by medication. So, if you know your headache, you will be more successful at getting rid of it! Good luck!

Try either Tylenol Sinus, or take a Benedryl and go to sleep. Another thing, depending on how long it has persisted, A sharp "headache" behind the eye is one of the first signs of a brain tumor. For your health, I would see a doctor if this persists...God Bless...I'll keep you in my prayers. : )

you may have a migraine, usually a several hour headache on one side of your head, accompanied with light and sound sensivivty and nausea. you may need to actually go to the ER for a shot of pain killer and nausea med by a shot, and may even later need an MRI of your head and start some kind of prophylatctic drug, like Imitrex, or something like that. Some are eased by stress relief (ALWAYS easy. huh?) or relaxation, cool cloth on your forehead or a dark cool room.. GOOD LUCK!!

I'm not a doctor, but it sounds like a sinus headache. I have them all the time. I use comtrex or BC Powders for mine.

If you wear corrective lenses your prescription may be too strong. If not -you could have an inflammation-see your optometrist or ophthalmologist.
