What instincts? Do you really think survival is an instinct? Then what about suicide, or anorexia? Where are your instincts when you jump from a bungee?
So maybe reproduction. Sure about that? Have you really never met anyone that has accepted a life without children? Some preferred their careers, some are gay, some delay it until it's too late, but the fact is not everyone feels the urge to reproduce.
You might want to say 'well but that's not all people' Ok I agree. But are'n instincte suposed to rule all people? So how come nature makes even one exception?
Despite how convinced the previous answers may seem, instincts could still be there, but they play almost no part in your life.

I would say...survival. This would include the ability to live (and stay alive), food (a key for survival).
I would have to say to the person who said what are instincts...huh? The prime basic instinct is survival. It is for animals and it is for humans. We do what we can to live.

Basic instinct is to do whatever it takes to feel good.
I have a lot of it. I flinch like crazy every time I try to shoot myself in the head, and I'm always looking for the girlies that are into my ice cream cone.
