You will survive college!

It is common to feel anxious about moving away from home and going to college. However, if you want to succeed, then you should think of all the positive aspects about moving away to college.

Depending on whether you are attending a college or a university, you will have the opportunity to meet hundreds of new and interesting people. In my own time at college, I have met people who have lived in Russia, Portugal, and even other states that I've never been to. Getting involved with different service organizations on campus is a good way to meet people.

You will most likely be homesick for awhile, but keep yourself busy and you will find yourself enjoying the time away from home.

I'm the first person in my family to attend college and I'll be starting my second year this fall. Needless to say, I didn't know anything about college when I started last year due to my family's lack of experience, but college is wonderful.

A good place to start is with your roommate. You should be receiving your housing assignment soon, if you haven't already. Start talking to your roommate and plan out your dorm room. This will surely cause you to feel more comfortable about the whole 'new student' experience.

Good luck!

It's only natural for you to be scared . Leaving home and your family and freinds........BUT You just wait once you get there you will start making new freinds and yes your old freinds at home will always be in your heart but now you have the chance to find out all about how to be a single person out on your own...You will be fine and will start having fun right away I am sure of it...
You are entering a new phase of your life and will be getting your degree and will have a job...You will be just fine. In a couple of weeks you will wonder why you wrote this to Yahoo asks lol Have fun

can you say run on sentence?? Just calm down. You are in the same position as every other freshman going to your school this fall. You're going to meet people right away, and make friends right away. Nobody else will know anyone else. I'd suggest asking your parents or any responsible adult how to balance your checkbook.. It's pretty easy. And you won't need to know how to boil an egg. As long as you know how to dial a phone and say "large pepperoni pizza" you will be fine. And don't worry about your friends. There is the internet at most schools and most schools have computer labs.. and Thanksgiving break, Winter break, spring break, summer break. If they're your true friends you'll stay in touch. You're going to have so much fun you won't even remember why you were nervous. Just make sure you pay attention in class and don't party too much. Good luck!

Bobbo moving on with your life is a scary thought at times, but we all adjust. I left home when I was 17 and moved over three thousand miles away. I did not know anything about life other than home. It took some time, but after being with other people for a while friendships were developed and life went forward. Good luck in college.

Relax first of all , take a deep breath, now you have friends and family and you will make friends, maybe a roomy. So keep your chin up your smart and your gonna be ok, just work your problems and when in doubt ask a friend or a teacher. You will be ok. Hey how about asking someone in the dorm for some advice, maybe a counselor.

I WAS THE SAME WAY THREE YEARS AGO BUT NOW I'M A SENIOR. I WAS SO SCARED, EXCITED, AND NERVOUS BUT I GOT OVER IT . I AM 12 HOURS AWAY FROM MY FAMILY BUT I AM FINE. I AM LEARNING AND GROWING INTO AN ADULT. YOU WILL BE FINE. YOU WILL LEARN( NOT ONLY IN CLASS), YOU WILL HAVE SOOOOO MUCH FUN, AND YOU WILL GROW. YOU WILL MEET SO MANY NEW PEOPLE WHO ARE FEELING THE SAME WAY YOU ARE FEELING RIGHT NOW. JUST BE YOURSELF, STAY FOCUSED AND PRAY.
