How can I prevent rape?

1 on 5 girls are raped. I live in a good neighborhood. What should I do not to get raped?

The only sure-fire way to NOT get raped is to lock yourself in a room with no windows/doors forever....but since you can not do that just keep your eyes and ears peeled and avoid any "bad" neighborhoods,however evil happens EVERYWHERE(even heaven). I have been attmp.rape/raped/sdmzd./molested all on different times and it wasn't even a stranger. Peace,Love&Happiness to All....Good Luck in the Future!

Tragically, there is no way for anyone, male or female, to be sure they won't be raped. There are rape awareness centers, both neighborhood and on line, use them. Check your local listings, if you're in school talk to a counselor, everyone is at risk of something every day of their life, but that is no reason to live in fear. I put my daughter in a Karate class, and personally supplemented it with years worth of dirty street fighting tricks, is she safe? No. Is she safer? I can only hope. Just remember that for each of those 1 in 5 women who suffered such a tragedy, there were 4 in 5 that didn't.

Some of my ideas:
1: invest your knowledge in finding out how to make chinese fingertraps, so you can manufacture silk (so it cannot be torn) pants with a chinese fingertrap waistband. You can use the procession error of confusion/reaching for scissors to make a quick escape. They are not fashionable, but functional.
2. do not wear revealing clothes, or try not to be attractive. I know, its the mans fault not the womans, blah blah blah, but unfortunately for the time being the probability of getting raped will increase if the man is attracted to you.
3. learn self defense. teach yourself how to block attacks and use pressure points (the squeezing of the upper neck and the base of the thumb, etc.) to your advantage. grow your nails out. carry pepper spray.
