I do not agree personally, but I think that point of view is shared in large part by people in unhappy marriages who want to stray. i have been approached (unsuccessfully) by SEVERAL married people who want to have affairs> These people always say their marriage is no longer intimate, and they are looking for someone to fill that void. They say they will get it elsewhere if not with me - which is fine, but disurbing. I think that if you dont want to be married and monogomous, DONT DO IT. save everyone the pain and drama. just date - have ralationships, but dont agree to be monogomous if thats really not what you want.

Marriage is not outdated. It gives children a better foundation to grow. It provides better means of wealth development when two people work together. It stops the spread of sexually transmitted diseases (When they're faithful.) It provides comfort and love.
Depending on how old you are, you may not see the need for any of these things.

I disagree because I think there still need to be some kind of formal and legal recognition of two people together... or else there won't be any recognition of any sorts as a society. Because if you talk about marriage, everyone recognizes what it is and knows what it means. So, it serves as a recognition by others. If that is abolished, then what serves to recognize it?

Disagree. It's the best institution for survival (i.e. procreating and raising children). Hands Down!!!
Marriage will be outdated as soon as human beings are!!!

When you post a question - use the spell check feature.
My reaction to your question is that today's
youth does not respect the Social Traditions -
I suppose it's not surprising since so many grew up in single parent homes.

I copmletely agree; the process should be revised to make it more flexible of course centered arround off-spring wellbeing. I propose a sort of renewable contract model.

Maybe for those who take it for granted it might be. But there are those of us who are struggling to make our relationships legally recognized in the same way other marriages are.
