The joint is called Mahalo Teriyaki. While the movie takes place in Phoenix, it was filmed in Torrance, CA, and the mall where the action takes place -- the Saguaro Square Mall -- is actually the Del Amo Fashion Center (the things one learns by watching the entire end credits . . . ). According to the Del Amo Web site, there's no Mahalo Teriyaki in the mall's food court, but Google knows better.

No its a really nice area. I lived all over Phoenix for 9 years. That is more torwd Glendale area. But still nice. Not in the richest neighborhood. But you wont get robed for looking nice. There are alote of great places to go, from where your at. 2 malls, 35 bars (Irish Pub was my favorite) or (The Monastery), parks, karaoke, sports (live and TV), and a family and friend invierment. You will like it. OH and If you go to Tempe, go down Mill ave. Its so cool there, especially on Halloween. Hope this helps..

I live there and there isn't actually any mall by that name (whatever it was in the movie) that I know of, but I'm not sure where the actual mall WAS filmed.
