why do black people get mad and when white people say n***** and they dont get mad when black people say it?

Well, as a black male I'll try to shed some light on this. First off, its a very sensitive word if you look at its roots. I'm sure you don't need me to tell you its a derogatory term originated by white slave owners and/or those that supported slavery. 2nd, according to the way you have it stated (N*****) I'm assuming you ended it with the letters "e" and "r" which is precisely the derogatory term. Oddly enough, most times when its stated by someone that is white that's the way its spoken(with an er on the end), thus usually inflaming the person they're referring to. However, the word you hear exchanged between us is spelled n*gga which is a variation of the original word that has become accepted and widely used in the black community. In this form its not intended to be derogatory. The same way you might use the phrase "that's my girl" which implies you're cool with the female you're referencing, we might say "that's my n*gga" which carries the same meaning...friend, someone I'm cool with, etc. When the word is stated by a known friend of another race and we KNOW the way they are stating it, is not intended to be neagative then usually its accepted. In fact I have numerous friends of other races and not only have I accepted them saying "n*gga" but, I usually refer to them by the same term and they as well refer to other people who are not black by this term. Basically, its become a term of endearment in a sense. Hope this helps your understanding...

By the way, ignorant people like Kidd Smokes and RedneckRonsWife would actually be classified as n*ggers because even though people automatically associate the word with african american descent, the words defines a person of ignorance and its sad that there so much of it still out here.

Hello Angel, This is Ammoconfidential. I shall answer your question for you. You will hear this straight from me. Blacks react because 1) if a white person does say that word to them, it wouldn't matter if it was their friend or someone they knew well, They would get offended because of the mind set that they have.
This mind set militates against peace and harmony between the 2 races. Black people call themselves the word just like they use slang and try to call it a language, Ebonics...yeah right! Me personally, I can't tell you why its the way it is between Blacks calling each other the word. This is probably due to the upbringing I had and the changes in life I have been through.
I have been called the word by whites in the past and blacks as well. I have taken it...I can only speak for myself on this. I will tell you now that there is a mind set amoungst the camp of the black liberals that anything that whitey sais is trash and any blacks who think, breath and act in in like manner are trash as well.
I hope this helps you to see the condition that blacks in this country now have. It is rooted in the fact that self appointed black leadership in America has poisioned the minds of a lot of black people into believing their garbage. So this arrogant attitude you run into is the results of years of propaganda.

First of all, I don't think anybody- not even a black person- should be using that word at all!!! I think the main reason why black people get mad when white people use that word is because white people aren't black and that word shouldn't be coming out of their mouths. I get pissed off when a black person says that to me becasue i'm not an ignorant person. The word "*****" means the way a person acts, NOT their skin color. I'm telling you this from a black perspective. I hope this anwsers your question. By the way... don't use the word "*****" again.

As a Black individual, i think say the "N" notice in ANY context is faulty. The "N" notice isn't a term of endearment and could be faraway from frequent vocabulary as despite if it fairly is. It would not rely the place you reside, it particularly is not ok for anybody to assert it. A White individual asserting it fairly is barely worse than others as a results of fact they created the notice to be utilized in negativity, despite if ending in -gga or -gger. people who allowed you to assert it without prevention are ignorant. I think it's just more culturally exceptable because black people use it as a sign of comradery(sp?) whereas white people often use it to be deragatory. Also consider that it was white slave owners that originally started using that word.
