Does this work on old scars as well? I have a scar that is about 13 yrs old..Will this product do it any good?

I do not know. I have read the ingredients and just do not see how it can work. Check on the consumer reports website.
I also look at what actual people say about products. Look at these and see what you think. Realize these are all individuals. See if there is someone that fits your description.

The best thing I know for a scar is to prevent it from forming with a slow heal. You use neosporin oinment and keep the site moist and let the skin heel reallly slowly. My dermatologist told me that.

I bought some and started using it on a new scar so I am familiar with the product. On the information sheet that comes with it, here is what they say: "Massage it in 3 to 4 times a day; on new scars for 8 weeks; on existing scars for 3 to 6 months. They claim their product reduces the appearance of scars but also that no product can make scars disappear completely. Mederma can help them appear softer, smoother and less noticeable." I have been using it for about a week or two and I can't tell yet how helpful it is.

I would say so. I used Mederma about 5 years ago, and it works pretty well. I used it on a surgery scar that wasn't old, but it was pretty big and it lightened it and took a couple inches off. I would definately try. If anything, I would think it would lighten the scar some.

i think that it'll lighten up your scar and make it a little smaller but i don't think that the scar will completely go away. i use it on some big scars i have from an accident and it's not really working.. but it might be because they're pretty big.

absolutely! that stuff it magic. the stuff it kind of expensive so when you use it, use just a little bit. you can get it at walgreens or at a grocery store. it says on the bottle how many times a day you have to use it and how long to use it and everything. but it really works, i got rid of an old scar in just a week!
