has anyone EVER witnessed anyone standing up at the part of a wedding when the preacher type is like: does anyone know why this man and woman should not be joined? and like protested it - or heard of anyone doing that -- im arriving at the belief that it has never happened aside from in movies because i know alot of people and have never heard of ANYONE doing that or knowing of anyone who had done it. i would LOVE to hear one real account of it.

*sigh* When I was ten, and my parents were getting married my mothers mom did. *Flasback* He had just said "Is there anyone with a reason that theese two should not be wed speak now or forever hold your peace." I, of course, was almost asleep when I heard Aunt Grace gasp. I looked up and Nana was standing with a finger at her chin. "I would like to say something." My poor dad almost wet himself. He looked at the minister who just shruged and said "No one has really ever done this before." So anywho Nana started talking. "Danny, you are not fit to marry Marty." Here mom burst into tears and Uncle Daniel ran over and hugged her. "Your a selfish slob. You don't even clean up after yourself. Your completlly and totally wro.." Dad put up a hand to stop her and said. "Joice, this is my and Martys descision. If you don't like it than leave our lives. " Nana left the church and the serman went on. Although things were never umm, comfortable with Nana and Dad.
I know that this sounds like something out of a book but I swear to you its true. I am even watching the wedding video this very second.

No I've never seen it happen either.
I've thought about that too before, and I'm always tempted to jump out and protest, and then say just kidding...

I almost did it at my best friend's wedding...her sister and I had to physical hold each other down so we wouldn't stand up and say anything.
