Does it have to be to the same guy or can i total up all my marriages?..kidding, well not but you know what i mean. whats really a shame is that you never get to a place where you are SAFE, where its been so long there is no chance of it falling apart. My parents were 18 years, my sister was 16 years and we see 30 and more year questions here all the time. I think it should be illegal to divorce once you reach a certain point! Not really on that either but finally reaching a safe point would be nice.

My dear, when I was only 19, an old aunt of mine told me: "Nowadays people get married while thinking about the possibility of divorce, they just don't have enough tolerance for each other". I took this commentary as a rule of a happy marriage. After 29 years with the only man on earth I've had sex, and three sons, I began to realize that I made a great mistake. Unfortunately, life is too short, and when you want to to really LIVE, it is already time to start thinking of retiring and buying a grave.

I just recently celebrated 26 years of marriage. Quite a milestone for these days. I'm glad to hear there are more of us out there. With the divorce rate as high as it is, it's nice to know that the institution of marriage can survive the dreaded "seven year itch".

It is rare, huh? 31 years here before the divorce was final in Jan. and by myself for over a year. Things happen!

I was married 30 years when my husband died in 1995. I can't find another one like him.
