I'm really not looking for the "find your own style" or the "be yourself and don't worry about it" answers. I really have no clue what's in style for the 10-13 age group. I'm asking for all tips... from jewelry to bags to backpacks to shoelaces. This will be my daughter's first day EVER in school. She's been homeschooled up to now, and I don't think PJ's until noon will do the trick. It's important to her that she fits in. Thank you!!!!

Since she's 10-13, you should go to Abercrombie Kids. They have a website http://www.abercrombiekids.com/kids/lifestyles/html/homepage.html so go check that out. There should be one near you, it's a very popular store. Although it's a bit pricey, she'll definitly be instyle. I doubt you'll find something her size in hollister, forever 21, etc. Unless you get XS. stuff, but they don't always have stuff that fits a pre-teen. I'd stick to Abercrombie Kids, and also you may want to research fashion for teens/pre-teens a little. Even looking at what other girls her age are wearing at like malls and stuff will help. Just makesure you don't get stuff that's out. You'll catch on quick, don't be worried, fashion's all around us.

Some cute examples of clothes:
Layering tops
Leggings w/ miniskirts
Leggings w/ longer tops
Ripped/Destroyed/Distressed/Frayed Jeans
Logo tees (Hollister/Abercrombie/American Eagle)
Polo Tees
Tanks/Camis (good for layering with v-top tees)
Knits/Henley tops
Crop/Knit Sweaters
Chunky bangles/Bohemian Jewlery, it's very cheap and light wieght =)
Beremuda Shorts
(Shoes)Flats/Wedges/Flip Flops

I hate when people are like "It doesn't matter what clothes you're wearing, blah, blah. it only matters what her personality is" IT DOES MATTER. Don't get me wrong, it's very nice to have a good personality and friends who accept you for you, but what do people see when they first look at you? They can't see your soul/mind/personailty/etc. They see your style, your clothes. That's why it's important to be in style and look good and have a good personality. Cause looks will only get you so far. Since she's been homeschooled for all this time, she's probably a bit shy but she's probably not mean or snobby so that's a good thing, or maybe i'm just too quick to judge. That's a good thing though. Just let her get out more and hang out with kids her age more often so she's used to it when she goes to school. You can't only look good, you need to act right too. Goodluck!

okay i would say if you ahve money and a good amount use it on clothes tweens and teens can consentrate on where you get your clothes alot i would sugest shoping at abercrombie and fitch, american eagle, hollister, and any other stores like that who sell the same types of clothing. Polos are always in but you have to get them from a ncie place not just old navy, lacoste is always good. Jeans are a must and also capris and jean skirts. The jean skirts at hollister are popular. Maybe go for a coach purse or something designer if orgot what age girls got into that though. shoes i would say flip flops mostly i dont know about your town but alot of kids these days wear sperry topsiders and converse. get soem casual glothes liek layering tanks or tees and just other fun things! good luck!

Well am 16...and whats in right now is the prep look and urban look. It really depends to what school she goes. All the rich kids school, you'll most defenitely find them wearing Abercrombie & fitch, hollister, american eagle, aeropostale, pacsun. Preppy clothes can get expensive if you go to abercrombie & fitch then again you find sales there. Lastly, she doesnt have to go preppy theres other clothes that can be cheaper and still cute.

Cute dangly earrings! As for shirts, horizontal stripes I've noticed are starting to become very popular. And layering!
For outfit ideas, try window shopping around at the mall or through the internet, look at stores such as Aeropostale, American Eagle, Urban Outfitters (very cute but probably won't fit her, just use it to get outfit ideas), Old Navy, Wet Seal and Rave for example.

Well, that's a good thing that you are taking the time to make this a most pleasant experience for your daughter as possible. You're right... fashion is VERY different from age group to personal style. As for the 10-13 age group, you can't go wrong with preppy styles with chic accessories. For example:
- Anything at "Abercrombie and/or Hollister" stores
- Shoulder bags w/ denim jackets and simple chain necklaces
- Form fitting polo shirts with flattering deconstructed/ ripped jeans
-Layered tank tops or feminine muscle shirts with hoop earrings
- Gaucho pants with a strappy top and a contrasting cropped shrug (to cover up... most public schools have dress codes)
... as for the colors and specific accessories... it's really up to what your daughter feels looks best with the outfit y'all decide to go for. One thing to also keep in mind is that as much as there are "In" things, youngsters are always looking for the next cool thing to copy... so, try to keep it interesting by adding a sash belt to a pair of jeans, or a retro print scarf tied around a cute hair bun...
Also, if you think "Hollister" or "Abercrombie" are too pricey (they ARE)... log on to www.delias.com or www.alloy.com and subscribe to their mail catalog. Unlike the above mentioned stores, which focus on set templates of fashion and changes them up, the catalogs offer teen appealing takes and examples of actual runway and current fashions outside the "clique" cliches AND at very reasonable prices!!! I like both... Oh, you can pick up some teen magazines and look them over with your daughter to see what fancies her style... It will be very fun for both of you!!! Most girls this age DREAD or WISH their mothers would take up these sort of interests in their lives... Good Luck to both of you!!!

Cute chunky beads, skirts with leggings under them (leggings that match her shirt, belt and shoes) She should match lol umm flats for shoes such as vans. Long shirts that stop somewhere just below your waist, and big cute belts over them. Screen teens with basic polos under them && more :D Try stores like walmart, target, k-mart, & more

Gauchos, shrugs, flats. A sidesling backpack is in, but depending on how many books she has to carry, it could be painful to her back and shoulder.
