i think its because they look exotic and have nicer bodies than white women. black women seem to have the overall best bodies though (did you see miss trinadad and tobago???! what an ***!!!)

It's because they put a DAMN lot into it. I read that the South American countries put up so much money for the top women there, so that they'll have the best chance at winning Miss Universe. If you've been watching for many years, you'll notice that Columbia, Venezuela, Paraguay, and Argentina almost always have women in the top 5 or 10.

After looking at the contestants a majority of these ladies were very exotic looking. A lot of brunettes. Our Miss USA was pretty but not close to being as pretty as some of these women. I am a female and straight and even I was saying DAMN. Some of the dark skinned ladies were gorgeous!

No, the ones that win are flat butted no curved white girls (not the 5ft squat barrel shaped spicey latinas you see outside your door everyday) with spainish last names that always win Ms. Universe and the enormous bootied, southern pointed boobied, large nostriled, natural haired, black skinned, black girls are always substituted with the flat assed curvless colorless half white chicks like Halle Berry, Vanessa Williams, Leila Arcieri, Salli Richardson, Michael Michelle, Halle Berry, Jennifer Beals, Thandi Newton, Lisa Bonet, Jennifer Freeman, Mariah Carey and Mya that always seem to win these sorts of competitions.

This year, the best body was for Miss Brazil, she had just the right amount of curves without being too exaggerated (or too flat..eww). Also Miss Canada had a FABULOUS body, it's weird how this 2 candidates didn't make it to the top 5...also, didn't you just love Miss Bolivia's and Miss Mexico's faces? They were the prettiest faces in the pageant (also didn't make it to the top 5...weird)

no not really, but lately we seem to have developed the skills and finess to be anle to compete, latin and hispanic women, usually did not participate in this kind of contest because they did not look decent for a hispanic to do this, expose in public in a swiming suit was something a decent women did not do, thank god this has finally change and we are now applaude for participating in a miss contest
