She will probably be sad regardless of what you try to tell her. Let her grieve for awhile. You can be a good friend for just being there to listen to her. It's never any fun when you can't say goodbye to a pet.

You can tell her the story of the Rainbow Bridge and how she may be reunited with her bunny some time later. Then just let her grieve and be there for her. Losing a pet is hard if you loved it very much. Be her friend and support her and after a while see if you can get her interested in a different animal. Give it time.
Here's the Rainbow Bridge poem if you want to use it:

Give her a way to say goodbye... help her make a card or perhaps a memory box. Fill it will a list of all they things she loved about her bunny and all the things she would like her bunny to take with her into the next life.....

Tell her that the bunny is in a better place (with God) and that the bunny will be very happy if she's happy.

It would be good idea to get a memorial garden stone with the rabbit's name on it. They sell these at pet stores.
In addition, some funeral homes have little booklets for young people on how to cope with loss, and even have them on the loss of a pet. I noticed these when my mother passed away, and thught it was a good idea since people don't get as much support on the death of a loved pet as they might on the death of a person or family member.

My once died too. I used to live in a two story house and on the balcony, it didn't have like something around it, just like cement and it fell down from there. My bro still makes fun of me. I suggest you tell her that it was just a little animal, and that he died happy knowing that his owner loved him so much.

she will be sad no matter what, even if she got to say good-bye. just be there for her and let her know if she wants to talk, you'll be there to listen. as much as people may want to help. saying things is worse than you think. like everything will work out. time heals all wounds. you never forget. just by letting them know they have a shoulder to cry on is good enough.

Just say your their for her and if there's anything you can do for her. Also you can look or tell her to look on the internet there's sites that have articles that say how to cope with the loss of a pet.
