My uncle makes about $60,000 a year. He works 10-15 hour days 7 days a week of back breaking labour. Dunno. You decide if thats worth it. I wouldn't.

There are many successful farmers. But a farm is a business, and if it is not managed like a business it will fail, like so many other poorly managed businesses are too.
If someone is serious about being a farmer they can get an agriculture degree at university which will help them with both the crop and/or livestock aspect as well as the business aspect.

It's a very hard profession. The hours are absolutely grueling and you must be extremely dedicated. The money isn't going to make you rich but if you form strategic alliances with companies to sell your products to or if you are part of a co-op, the opportunity for profit is greater. Good luck.

it is hard, if your a crop farmer your livelyhood is determined by how much rain you get
being dependent on the weather to make aliving is a dicey affair
yes they make money, sometimes

yeah it's hard, but if you do well you make LOT"S of money... farmers make money from the products they plant PLUS money from the government (to control inflation and stuff)...it's on'y worth it if you're REALLY committed...
