when i was getting my 9 month old son his bath i noticed that the head of his penis was purple and he also has what appears to be small spots of diaper rash. does anyone know what kind of condition this could be and how severe it is. my mother says it can wait until i can get into our doctor but im scared something is really wrong and i should take him to the hospital.

is he curcumcised or no?.... my son isn't but some times his head is purple... but usally when it is *hard*... as for the dots... did u stray to wash it off.. not with a rag or anything just spraying water or poring water.. some times can be from the cream or the gell from the daipers.. DO not try to rub it off or trying to take it off with your fingers.. he also might have a yeast rash... use nystatin cream but you have to get it from a doc. i hope i helped a little bit

If the baby doesn't seem to be bothered or in a lot of pain then listen to your mom. Having a boy sure is different from having a girl! I've brought mine to the doctor at least twice for penis related issues only to find out that it was normal. (sorry I am not a nurse or doctor, just trying to be supportive--thought maybe my experience as a mom might help)

if you are that concerned i would take him to the hospital,just to be sure it's nothing more than a diaper rash,and for your own piece of mind.

You need to call your childs doctor and tell him/her the symptoms. The doctor might be able to get you in the office sooner or tell you wether or not to go to the ER. Either way you will know.

I would not rely on Yahoo Answers to answer an important health question in regards to my child. That's what doctors are for! Get him to one!

just cut the penis off. it will regrow in no time. ;-)
