Mke sure it has plenty of water. Assuming the barrel has drain holes in bottom, water until water comes out the bottom. The fruits that are getting end rot are unpollinted. Zuchini plants have both male and female blossoms. The female blossoms are the ones with the tiny little squash below the blossom. The male blossoms are the ones that have onl a stem below the blossom. If you do not have enough bees, flies, spiders , etc. to pollinate the blossums then you need to hand pollinate them. You do this
by picking a male blossoms and pull off the pretty petals until you
have only the stamen left. Now very gentley rub the stamen from
the male blossom on the stamen of the female blossom. Once you have the zuchini growing leave them until they are 8 or 10 inches long. Harvest them by cutting them off. Fertlize unly every two weeks as you have them in a confined container, Any more often and the salts in the fertizer will buold up in the soil and injure the plant.. You will have better luck the next time if you plant two zuchini plants, Better pollination, For some reason some zuchini plants don' poduce enough or even any male blossoms.
Excuse the typos. Not one of my skills.

First, I think your zucchini roots are too confined in the barrel.
Water it well everyday, add some Miracle Grow. I would suggest that you pinch off some of the flowers before they turn into zucchini's, this will help the few that are already trying to grow.
Since you have it contained in a small area, don't expect all of them to be Hummer size. Just pinch a few of the tiny ones off, and some of the flowers...this should help it a little.
Happy planting!

zucchini needs a lot of water and as you have it in a barrel you will need to feed a liquid fertiliser ever few weeks as the watering leaches it from the soil, you can pick them small but if you keep the feed and water up the plant will produce for a few mounths providing the temp is still nice and warm, dont let them get to big before you pick them or this will greatly reduce the amount of fruits you get
