Well in the Tv Series you have cameras in all the rooms including now the toilet,at the moment its Armageddon week in the uk version so its like they are living in a world with nothing,no bath,no pool,no cooker, nothing its a bit like the poor side in series 3 with Jade Goody.its is a bit like 1984, the idea came from it and Big Brother does control there every move, they even show the housemates if they have been talking about other housemates behind there back to stir it up abit so they have arguments,I am very mush enjoying it,..thanks George..;) If it was not for the novel we would not have Big Brother.

No. It's just based on the 1984 quote "Big Brother is watching you". Which makes sense, because the house is so full of cameras that you are probably always being recorded, even when you're in the bathroom.

It's loosely inspired by it, but nowhere near it. It's just a show with a bunch of cameras watching people, while in "1984" it was a dystopian group of elites that kept people extremely poor, ignorant and afraid.

actually there ARE cameras in the bathroom, just not in the showers or in the can. But you can watch them brushing their teeth, taking a bath, shaving, etc...

the Orwell novel was way different, much darker and less entertaining.

No, it's not based on the book, but that's where the phrase "big brother" comes from.

Books increase your grammar, reading level, spelling, vocabulary, and generally will be more educational than T.V.
