Any new Japanese actor who can be compared with him now?

In my humble opinion he was best in the Samurai trilogy (1954, 1955, 1956).
Other greats were:
Rashoman
Yajimbo
There are many good films he is in.
No current Japanese actor can yet be compared. Sorry.

and the "duel" with Alain Delon ..(I think)...
I have seen him in many other movies...but sorry can't recall the titles.
I have no idea with contemporary japanese artists...
