I have two 4-5 inch and two 1-2 inch fantail goldfish. I want to add some other type of animal into my tank. I have owned an African Dwarf Frog before but I am not sure I want another because they aren't very active. Does anyone know of a small turtle, frog, maybe a unique type of fish, or other creature that could be added into my tank
that would be no bigger than about 6 inches??

try adding some angel fish inside. they wont atttack the goldfish, and they are beautiful. also try a baby turtle and leave him at the bottom of the tank. turtles are medium active so you will see some movement. also they like to burrow. and try tetra blue fish. add about 10 baby ones of those and they shine of light that has been shone on them. they add a luminous touch to your tank and they all swim in one direction in the same group. also try red coloured plants and bury them under the gravel. if its possible add a light at the back. good luck!

You really can't add anything else to that tank, as goldfish are cold water animals. Frogs (as well as mollies, guppies, and most other fish) are tropical - they prefer temps above 75 degrees.

Also, goldfish produce too much waste for most other fish to handle. You should be doing weekly 30% water changes just to keep ammonia/nitrite/nitrate levels in check.

Good luck.

get rid of the goldfish. they are the dirtiest fish you can get. they are the slobs of the fish kingdom. if you like the color go with rosey barbs. they are way more fish friendly. but if you want to keep them and want to spend a little bit of cash to make the tank a bit more exotic then mabey a zebra sucker is the way to go. they stay small about 4-6 inches but the price is a bit too high. they go for about 250. i have one and wow its a completely different color to the tank.

ive got 2 of them in my goldfish tank..theres a few different varietys of them (standard, albino, golden..)

Theres not much of a choice there becuase they like cold water..

try Sarassa, shubunkin..the fancier varietys of goldfish..they all are very pretty and different in their own ways

gold fish are very dirty, they put off a lot of amonia. other fresh water fish can't survive with them because of this, i would stick with the goldfish family. a bubble eyed fish or a fan tail would work.

no, your goldfish will reach about 12 inches each so your overstocked.
