I don't think we can. I believe some of those people are were they want to be. So the better way would be how to have/get jobs for the people that want to work. Another one would be increasing mimimumwage Rut than you would get a lot "Hour dot lower my taxes? questions.

G-Bear, you have a good point, but do you know how many homeless people don't care? And will take advantage of you at the drop of a hat?

I think that the neighborhood watch should get together and help the homeless in their neighborhoods. NOT through the government.

If we can get everyone a new home, the government can collect increased property tax revenues for the homes. Then they can use the money to buy more homes for the next generation, and so on. I guess to initially get the homes for everyone, we would have to increase the national debt to higher than the current $8 trillion. At this point, I don't see the problem with that, because it will never be zero anyway!

we cannot eliminate homelessness ...

unless we just eliminate the homeless...

believe it or not.. there are SOME homeless that refuse help in any form...

there are also a lot of mentally ill people on the streets... and they refuse treatment... and we cannot force them...

however... we can reduce it... with affordable housing.. like supporting HOUSES for people.. not appartment buildings to cram them in like sardines and concentrate crime...

talk with your government officials about free education for those who are under educated... and other support systems.

well our own government selling us down the road hasn't helped. Big Boxers who create jobs you can support families on, low wage jobs outrageous taxes, skyrocketing housing prices (remember the low wage jobs).. Its a bomb that hasn't gone off yet sweetie..shortly the homeless population will double, triple and quadruple as more and more of us slip under the outrageous skyrocketing price of America
