I am starting a training program and need to know a reasonable goal as to what level I need to be playing at for college. Using the National Tennis Rating Program I need to know what level competiteve college students compete at. Right now I am a 2.5-3.

Not sure. My guess would be a minimun of a 5.0, but it may vary depending on the school you go to. I'd recommend contacting the sports program director of the college you're looking to attend. I was a 4-4.5 my senior year in high school, but there were TONS of girls I played with that were better than me. At the very least, if you don't make the team, you can do intramural tennis. Either way, train well, play hard & try out.

Remember, in the end, tennis can stick with you for life, whether you play pro or recreational. Every true tennis player knows the feeling of when, by the end of season, it seems the racket is just an extension of your hand and how to not have it in your hand feels wierd.

Good luck! :)

You're not going to make it (except maybe Tufts). Aim lower. Some possibilities: Santa Clara U Colgate U Rowen U Hillsdale College
