Have you ever heard of a story called the arrow princess? A man told me it once and then pretty much dissapeared and now I have no way of finding him. I was wondering if anyone knew of the story.

I wrote the story, cited in the link here, called "Princess Arrow Rock." It is not an old folk tale. Rather, it is a personal adaptation of a story known as "General Stone Tiger," which is referred to in the writings of a Buddhist master named Nichiren.
Nichiren got the story from Chinese folklore, I think. I could be wrong. But I do know for certain that the story cited here as "Princess Arrow Rock" is a new story based on an old scenario (General Stone Tiger was said to have shot an arrow into solid rock.)
