can someone plz explain what the cliff hanger was supposed to be, like i didnt get it why did he walk down the stairs and bite the apple????

i was confused with how they made the love triangle thing...does it mean that she wants to be with johnny or what? and was johnny a bad guy in the movie or was it just...idk im soo confused

The Cliffhanger is that we are supposed to think that Jack died, the heart fell into the wrong hands, and they are going on yet another adventure and needed someone to guide them. The "original" captain of the black pearl was the guy that came down biting the apple. He was biting the apple because in the first movie he was undead and one of his big things that he missed and wanted to do was to be able to taste an apple. He is a bad guy because he was the captain of the black pearl only because he over threw Jack as Captain in the first place. So he wasn't really the original captain.
As far as Elizabeth and Jack, that is part of the cliff hanger. We don't know if she is really in love with Jack or not, but we can guess. And she only kissed him in order to manipulate him long enough to hand cuff him to the boat. And poor poor Will saw what happened. But because she was so passionate about it, it leaves us wondering. And as far as Jack being a bad guy, the movie is always leading us to want him to be a good guy, but we are never sure. Now remember when Elizabeth told him that at some point he is going to have to make a choice, and she believed he would make the right one? Well, he was abandoning ship when it was being attacked by the Cracken and then changed his mind and came back. So in the end, he turned out to be a good guy after all.

The whole movie made me angry. They turned Jack into a backstabbing coward, rather than following the "a pirate but still a good man" theme they had in part one. For some completely nonsensical reason Elizabeth was swooning over Jack before she even spoke to him, when she could barely stand him in part one. If they wanted to do a "love triangle" at least put some effort into it. Will got screwed over by everyone. Hopefully, bringing Geoffry Rush back into the third one will help, cuz the plot and characters were way off mark in part two.

Just answering the bit about Barbossa and the apple: In the first film, while explaining the curse to Elizabeth, Barbossa points out how he can never fulfill his hunger, specifically his desire to eat an apple. This desire is hinted at several times within the film: he offers Elizabeth an apple, Jack eats an apple when proposing his deal about giving Barbossa the name of the person he needs to break the curse (Will) and then offers it to Barbossa.
Now, in the second film with the curse broken, Barbossa is able to eat, drink, etc. etc. And so the screenwriters set it up to where Barbossa eats an apple at the end, emphasizing the fact that the curse is broken (slight irony, really)

I didn't like the ending, but in less than a year Pirates 3 will be out (May 2007) I can't wait!!!

they made 2 movies at once. They left the end hanging so you will rush out to see 3 when released

The ending is typical of second movies of trilogies. It forces you to pay to see the third movie.
I found the movie dry, boring and long. Plus it pissed me off that really nothing was acoomplished and none of the characters grew or changed.

It didn't make me angry, although I did roll my eyes. A clear cliffhanger, setting us up for POTC #3. It reminded me of when I was a kid and went to see EMPIRE STRIKES BACK - same type of ending, just a set up for the next one.

no, it didn't make me angry, it's just a cliffhanger until the next pirates comes out, they filmed both movies simultaneously so just relax, the next one will be out as soon as they're done cashing in on this one !
