can anyone answer the question, just why?

The question "Why?" is not a simple question. When you ask why you are opening it up for them to tell you anything they want. I get that dumb question at work all the time. I tell them what is going on and they ask Why?. I give the shortest and best answer for this second question and they normally ask why again. It is a new fad in business to ask why three times. By the third why you should be to the root cause.
The best way to answer the Why question is with a statment of what is being done about it. Or you will just get the second why. But you can always turn it around by asking them why is this the wrong way to take care of the problem?
So why do you want to know?
