the record is a galapagos tortois(150 yrs). some say an alligator snapping turtle can live as long as 200 years. The real question is ? What human is around long enough to document it?I'll go with the 200 yr old snapping turtle.See u in 200 years.

everyone says tortoise/turtles, but they and any other animal will only live long if properly cared for. Tortoises especially can be tricky, and most have very specific humidity, temperature, lighting and diet needs. Plus, they are generally super expensive to set up.
want a pet to live long, just make sure you do your homework on it first and make sure you can and want to provide for everything it will need.

gators can live to 50 years and some more. cats about 20 to 25 years, dogs, the bigger they are the less they live. a small terror breed can go 25 to 30, turtles over 150 years, many parrots can go over 200 years. macalls can live up to 200 years.

a tortoise can live very long...some have been noted to live up to 150 years, there was actually one in china that lived 188 years! thats almost 200 years, imagine having a pet that could outlive you AND double your life span!
