Republicans support taking away form americans their right to an attorney and trial. Why is this?

Many American citizens regardless of their crime have been imprisoned without any charges, no lawyer representation, and no trial. Why are republicans against this? It just baffles me how much they are close to communism and despot law

Richard Nixon's legal position concerning Watergate was that nothing a sitting President does can be illegal, his staff extrapolated that to mean that no one following the orders of a sitting president can be committing a crime. Bush has taken the same position, and this gives Republicans carte blanche to ignore the will of the majority, just as they did when they used a court decision to over ride the popular vote. Last I checked Bush's approval rating was around 30%, but no one in the party is proposing any meaningful changes. The polarization is the same we had during Nam (I can say We, I marched in some of those parades, I also served 20 years in the military, the right to march in those parades was one of the things we fought for, then and now). During Nam the pro-war/pro-draft people kept demanding proof, then denouncing the proof as lies or dismissing it as one time occurrences. It's the same now, people will believe what the want regardless, that's why America is the home of the Flat-Earth Society. All loyal Americans can do is seek the facts and make them public. Remember, Our country right or wrong, if it's right, to keep it right, if it's wrong, to make it right.

Buchanan is fighting the deportation of Nazi's including John Demjanjuk a brutal Nazi at Treblinka concentration camp.

There is a long standing law, dating back way before Bush and in fact passed by a democrat congress, that calls for military tribunals rather than court trials for people suspected of treason.

BTW, the terrorists at Gitmo are not U.S. citizens.
