5x + 8 + 3x - x + 5 = 6x - 3
first work on like terms on the left side
7x + 13 = 6x - 3
get the x's to be on one side
minus 6x from the right side and to the left so you'll get:
x + 13 = -3
then minus 13 from the right and left
x = -3 - 13
which is -16
so x = -16
CHECK:
5(-16) + 8 + 3(-16) - (-16) + 5 = 6(-16) - 3
-80 + 8 - 48 + 16 + 5 = -96 -3
-72 - 48 + 16 + 5 = -99
-120 + 16 + 5 = -99
-104 + 5 = -99
-99 = -99
just take your time and do it carefully.. go super slow and you'll get it.. hope i helped.. and God Bless You girl.. Good Night

okay; separate the parts with x on one side and the ones with only numbers on the other, like this:
5x + 3X - x -6x= -3 - 8 - 5 (remember when you are moving a number to the other side of the equals it becomes the opposite sign, i.e. negative if it was positive and vice-versa)
add like terms:
5x + 3x = 8x
8x - x = 7x
7x - 6x = x that's the left side
x = -3 - 8 - 5
now the right side:
-3 - 8 = -11
-11 -5 = -16
so x = -16
that's the answer

Combine x values (5x + 3x -1x = 7x) and add 5 + 8 :
7x + 13 = 6x - 3
Subtract 6x from both sides, and subtract 13 from both sides:
x = -16

5x + 3x - x + 8 + 5 = 6x - 3
7x + 13 = 6x - 3
7x - 6x = -3 -13
x = -16

When you get problems like this, you should use BODMAS, ie. Brackets, Division, Mulitiplication, Adition, Subtraction.
So,here, you should add first then subtract.Also you should put the terms that are alike together.
5x+8+3x-x+5=6x-3
5x+3x-x-6x= -3+5-8
8x-7x=-6
therefore, x=-6
