It's a very small stain, but I would like a method that won't harm the fabric.

If anyone could give me some "tried and true" methods, that would be great!

There are a couple of options :

- Rince the stain with peroxide;
- Cover the stain with salt, wait 15 minutes and rince;
- Leave the clothing in cold water in which you put a little bit of milk for one night;

Try the first, if it doesn't work, the second, then the third. Hope this helps!

If the stain is fresh, the best remedy for blood is running it under cold water. If it is not fresh, I would still run it under cold water after soaking it with a good laundry detergent like tide, and rubbing the detergent in with an old toothbrush.

Soak the stain in cold water for thirty minutes.
While you're waiting, make a paste of cornstarch, cornmeal and talcum powder
Spread the paste onto the stain and allow it to dry.
Brush away, and voila!

PEROXIDE
It really works best. Use the peroxide you would use to clean a wound. (You know the kind you always hate because it burns the mess out of you) It will automatically act as a cleaning agent just as it does on wounds. It will "eat" up all the blood and won't damge your clothing.

Depends on how new...the first minute that you get blood on clothes COLD WATER only.

Otherwise, Oxyclean works like a charm and is far less harmful that straight hydrogen peroxide.

Soak it in cold water, then try a little laundry soap on it to see if it comes off. If it's still there, and more cold water soaking doesn't do the trick, I've heard peroxide works.

i know this sounds crazy but it works and i swear by it, my best friend is the one that told me about it. Meat tenderizer...it breaks down the blood stains. get the spot wet with water put a bit of tenderizer,rub it in and wash it in the washer. comes right out. hope this helps. :)

if it's cotton, try to wash it as soon as possible with cold water, cleaning it best you can, and then apply at the troubled spot with some paste made with laundry detergent mixed with a little water, then scrub it with a used toothbruh (don't use force!). usually it works for me.
