you should really take your SAT while doing your first two years at a community college. I attend a 4 year university right now and my friend recently applied to my school (we also attended the same community college together for the first two years after we graduated high school) and he was rejected based on a lack of SAT scores. Even if you do go to community college, make sure to take your SATs if you plan on transferring to a University. Some community colleges even have "dual credit" courses where you can complete your first two years there and they guarantee that your hours will transfer in laterally to a local University. Either way, YES - take your SATs before applying to a University.
good luck!

Maybe you should focus on getting enrolled into a Junior college. junior colleges I don't think require sat scores. Find an interest. Take courses. Make the grade 3.0 or better. After one or two years, as long as your gpa is right, you can transfer to a school that you want anyways and save money. Any of the big name schools probably require sat scores for admission requirement. But Junior college, I dont think so. You can study for the Sat in Junior college if you want to go to a big name college. It probably takes 6 months to 1yr to study for this exam. I wouldn't pay a lot of money on a big school unless I knew what i wanted to do anyways.

You can do your first two years at a community college with your GED, and then transfer to a 4 year school. It saves a lot of money and you get the same degree in the end.

You can go to most community colleges without taking the SAT's. You might have to take an ASSET placement test, which will help them know what level of classes you need to be taking. Most other schools require an ACT or SAT score.
Good luck.
