You didn't say how old you are, but I'm a grown-up mother and teacher, and I still sometimes feel like you do. It's really true that sometimes life seems to go by too fast. You must be smart and sensitive to be thinking about this. The best thing you can do is to be aware that life is short, so we have to do the best we can with each day we are given. Take the time to appreciate some of the beauty of the world every day, do something kind for someone every day, do something that you really enjoy every day. And especially, tell your parents how much you love them. I hope you have a great relationship with them, so you can tell them about the things that worry you, and they can reassure you that your thoughts are normal. When my daughter told me about similar fears, I told her that no one knows the future, but that I was healthy and careful and would do my best to be around for a long, long time. I also told her that, as unbelievable as it may seem, she would learn everything she needed to know to be a grown-up herself one day. In the meantime, enjoy being a kid, because we spend most of our lives as adults; there's no reason to hurry into adulthood.

I hear that part of happiness in life is the keeping the good things in mind and imagining all of the possibilities in your future. I would suggest focusing on one or more goals that your could achieve before the end of the year and start thinking of how you will get there. Begin thinking of what you can do tomorrow to start making it happen. If you can do this, you will never be board enough to dwell on negative thoughts. You can also daydream. Exploring outer space in your mind is a good start before sleep to help relax you. Or even flying over the ocean like a bird at sunset.

I used to have to deal with this same issue. I had a dream where I actually saw my Dad get into a car accident right in front of my eyes..it was devastating. It took me a long time. My Mom would tell me, I could die in a week, but if I waste that whole week worrying that I'm going to die, I'm not really living. It's hard to "live" like that. Sweetie, talk with your parents and talk with a counsler.

You make the most out of everyday. Do things together, and make wonderful memories. Learn as much as You can about them. Take lots of pictures, and videos. And leave nothing unsaid. Ask about pictures and records, and write down what they say. Ask what they did at Your age. Love and respect them.
