I am discussing buying the used appliances from the previous renter of my new home, and would like to know what is a fair offer?

Since you can buy used appliances, in excellent condition, at estate sales for under $50.00; I would not offer much more than that for the ones that are available from your renter.

Good luck with your purchase.

Most newer appliances only last 8-10 years. They don't make them like they used to anymore.

Find out what the original warrenty was and it will give you an idea how long the manufacturer thinks it will last. (murphy law - a week after the warranty dies, so will the appliance, lol)

If half the life is gone, I'd say 25 - 35 %, depending on the shape it's in.

depending on what type of fridge, ( ice maker?, auto defrost?) most side by side's run an average of 1000.00 new in store and the old fashioned freezer on top and fridge on bottom, about 700.00 - 900.00 if you to to Sears, As far as the stove, is this a gas or electric? and if electric is it a flat top? average price brand new = 699.00 so for appliances about 4 yrs old, they should still have some type of warranty and little wear and tear I would expect to pay about 500.00 for the fridge and 300.00 for the stove

I would say somewhere between 25% and 40% of the original price - if they are in good shape.
