To remove mildew shake or brush item outdoors. Pretreat darkest stains with heavy-duty liquid detergent. Launder in hot water with a heavyduty detergent. Bleach as safe for fabric.

peroxide, peroxide, peroxide! It's a colorsafe miracle worker. I never got to the bottom of the hamper for a week and finally when i did, I'd had a wet facecloth on my daughters dress. There was black mold all over the color. I used peroxide, and after a few days it is gone!!! My mom told me about peroxide when my daughter was born. You pour it straight on the stain. Like, hold your one hand under the material, and pour with the other hand, having the bottle tight up against the material. Cover the whole stain. Let dry. You will have to do this a few days in a row. But if it's something of meaning, it's totally worth it!!

Mark M's answer is what I would have said. It's sound advice. I don't know of anything besides clorox that will get rid of mildew.
