A few ideas for your consideration:

Cool down your room at night.

Black it out as much as possible.

NO caffeine at all during the day for a while.

The otc meds don;t seem to be getting you into a deep enough sleep if you are waking up in three hours. Bag'em.

Gentle music that turns itself off.

Animals in a place where they won't wake you up (if you have pets).

Stronger meds can have TONS of side effects (Ambien has severe depression for some folks, the next day).

Good luck!!

Trying taking a nice bath. It helps some. I was also having problems sleeping and my Dr gave me meds to help. It was the best thing! Now I do not have a problem waking up during the night a bunch of times. The stuff he gave me does not make me groggy in the morning either. Sweet dreams!

Meatonin 3mg otc at walmart. Melatonin is what our bodies make naturally that make us tired this is not habit forming and works with your body to help you get the rest you ned, you wake up in the morning refreshed not groggy. ALso there is Valerian Root it has a natural sleep aid in it as well and promotes healthy blood however Valerian root pills smell really bad so u may want to think about the melatonin first.

I have suffered from insomnia off and on since I was eight years old. I have tried everything, and the only thing that helps is prescription sleep aids. There have been all kinds of medical advances in this area, so I would suggest seeing your doctor.

Take a shower right before bed. Sleep in the complete dark, use a sleep mask if necessary. Maybe try some music but play it really quiet, if you already sleep with noise, try sleeping without any noise in the complete quiet. And if all else fails sleep naked, maybe your clothes are restricting you.

We have used a natural way to sleep for many years and it has helped me to fall asleep faster and sleep better through the years. The solution for me was a magnetic mattress, blanket, and pillow. If this sounds like something you are interested in knowing more about e-mail me at, rgbs@dcdi.net Thanks Rosemary

You might also want to try some forms of meditation. While is may not help you, it won't hurt, either, and many find it offers some relief. Nothing to lose. Something to gain.
