I'm a 11 year old girl, but an amazing author... real authors have told me they love my stories. I just want to publish a children's book. But does anyone know how?

Hi there! I am thirteen and I have published a book when I was nine. It was published in three different languages and is in a program in all the different languages of the UN for blind and deaf people.

There are books out there that will suggest publishers (I believe.). I wouldn't be sure because mine was published by a relative of mine... Good luck though with everything and have fun!

Please note though that you shouldn't give up in the middle of your book because it was tempting for me...and if a publisher turns you down and they give you suggestions on how to improve your book, take them. Some publishers (I think) are just picky because the author is a kid, which is really wrong :-P. You will also need to get a good editor and an illustrator. It's a lot of work, but well worth it!!!!!

Read your stories to yourself, to family and to friends. Listen to howithey sounds, when you read them. See you can maybe take some of them and turn them into longer stories. Then submit them to book publishers or publishing agents. Keep submitting until accepted. Do what ever publisher or editor suggests, if it seems right, because you want the contract! You could submit them to an editorial service first, if you want. Or after the rejections. But as most experts say, don't give up, after the rejections, because giving up is a sign that your interest in publication isn't pure. In addition, I'd like to add, that I'd like to read your stories.

I realize you are probably too old for this, but if you go to the library and find a copy of "Highlights" magazine, they sometimes have writing contests. It would be a great place to start.

Also, it's never "Just a book". Writing is an amazing talent, and you should keep writing. Write what's in your heart, write what you know, write what you wish you knew, but just keep writing. Best Wishes!
