This is a really subjective question, and you're going to get a ton of opinions.
As a Mary Kay consultant, of course I think my products are the best. But, I had training with a Hollywood makeup artist earlier this year, and he told us lots of great things about MK products.
The great thing is you can try it for yourself for FREE and decide if you like it. Everything is also 100% guaranteed, so if you like it at first and then it doesn't continue to perform for you, you can return it.
You can also try makeup for free at the department store counters. FYI--They're all owned by Estee Lauder, including Aveda, MAC, Bobbie Brown, Clinique, etc.

I have been searching for this answer for years. I used Mac makeup for a while, and still use the eyeshadows and blush, but I began using Pure Minerals Make-up. It is wonderful for your skin and I prefer it to Bare Minerals because it is not a loose powder (messy). Anyway, it covers well and really leaves your skin glowing. It is so light and airy. Also, clinique has the best mascara!! Good Luck.

Bare minerals is the best foundation, it's really good for acne-prone skin and has great coverage.
L'Oreal has the best lipsticks, especially the best long-wearing lipsticks, Endless and Endless Kissable. They are long-wearing but they don't dry up of start to peel off. Fabulous!
Jane makes great eyeshadow. It really stays put, and it's very sheer and buildable so it's good for subtle or dramatic looks.
The best mascara is made by Max Factor, I especially like 2000 Calorie.

I love Estee Lauder's mascara (although it's pretty ex) but when it says waterproof, it really is and it doesn't smudge... I've yet to try one that is smudge proof other then EL.
Other brands I use are Maybelline (their line of lipsticks are the best), Cover Girl (love the blush and eye shadows) and Loreal (for lip gloss).

you know,,the best brand of make up is the kind that works for you. whether its expensive or cheap...doesn't matter as long as it looks good on you. and we can't suggest brands that work for us because we all have different skin.....i'm a die hard COVER GIRL user...it has stood the test of time for me but now with all these brands and fancy names popping up everywhere,,they all basically have the same ingredients ,,just cost more.,,sweetie..go cheap and put the rest in the gas tank!!!

M.A.C is def better than any other brand. the cover up especially cuzz it last long an dont melt off ur face when its hot out..and it covers really good. try it.

I like Rimmel's eye products, Revlon foundations and lipcolors, and jane's powders and colors! Shop around!
