On their website it stated that there was a power outage in LA that affected the area and the location of where the MySpace servers are located. The battery back-up system failed so they're asking everyone to be patient until things are back to operating normally.

Myspace was messed up all last night, then today i tried it around 3 and everything worked fine, then they shut down the mail and u could use comments, and now you cant even get on myspace homepage.......it sucks major

MySpace Power Outage shuts down site
Myspace.com posted an announcement tonight at 6:40PM PST time that their data center had a power outage. Tom went on to post the following message:
"hey everyone! there's been a power outage in our data center. we're in the process of fixing it right now, so sit tight. hopefully we'll be back online within the hour. its 6:40pm PST now. wanna place a bet? -Tom"
There were many bets placed to Tom and he has lost since it is now 9:40PM PST

the heat wave in the states is making people use the ac and the power plants arent able to produce so much energy and power goes out and the LA area its one of them (where the head of myspace is) and so they cant work on it and its off for a while

Tom sent a message saying, due to the power outage, I should have it up within the hour, his time was 6:40 p.m. pacific time, do you want to bet, he said. Well it has now been over that hour. I am still waiting too.

I know the feeling,I think everyone should close there accounts so they can then fix there problem,they just like to shut down with no service message,no consideration for there users,I say screw em and close all accounts then let them send emails trying to get everyone back to join. Good Deal!
