I've asked two questions, both about naming a girl Lenyn. The first time I asked it about 99% loved it and when I asked again about 99% hated it. What to do? People say "no, it reminds me of Vladimir Lenin" Well I don't think her friends will even know who that is. And they also said "No, it reminds me of John Lennon" and really I've never thought of that but what's wrong with it reminding people of John Lennon? What do you think? I personally think it's lovely and is beautiful when you write it and it sounds great as well. How about the rest of the world, what do you think?

It's pronounced just like linin fabric or for example Lennon as in John Lennon. Also the middle name will be either Sidney or Josephine.

I already answered this the first time around, but I need to stick my two cents in again. Please do not change your mind-the world has enough Brooklyn's, Madison's, Hannah's, Piper's and Caitlyn's. Stick with Lenyn-it is classy and beautiful!

I think that it is really your decision and not every one is going to like it. do you like it? and if so who cares what everyone else thinks. stand at your back door and yell it ten times if you still like the name after that then it is probably a winner. Remember you will be saying this name about 500 times a day for the rest of your life so think long and hard about it. Ask your close friends and relatives they know you well and can probably give you better advise than strangers that don't know you or your life style. Where you thinking about Lenyn as a first name or middle name and if first what middle name just out of curiosity?

The most important thing is that you like it and it's unique. From what I can tell, it's both. I've only ever heard of 1 person with that as a first name, but it's spelled 'Lennon'. She's a singer and music writer, and I'd listen to her all day.

Staying on the music track, my first name is Lindsey. I'm a dude.. my parents got it from the lead guitarist of the 70's band 'Fleetwood Mac'- Lindsey Buckingham.

I personally like the name Lenyn. I also like the spelling. Throwing the 'y' in there will always make it sound original.

Think of the name Christopher. Can be spelled Kristofor. I work with one of each, but in knowing the spelling of each of their names, it doesn't really occur to me that Kris is as unoriginal as Chris.

BUT.. In returning to Lenyn.. it's about as unique as you can get these days.

Touchè.. :)

If you think it is a beutiful name and feel strongly about that, then you should feel good about naming your child that. The rest of us don't matter. This is your baby, and no matter what you name her you will love her and she will love you. Other kids will grow up with her having this name, and you're right that they probably won't know who those people are. I like different names. I have three daughters, Aspen Leigh, Sienna Marie, and Carsyn J, and I'm glad that they don't meet someone with the same name as them every day. Good luck to you and your baby, and I hope that you feel good about the decision that you make.

I know what you mean... my son's name is Barrett. Before he was born we would tell people what we were going to name him and I would get... "Oh, you mean like Grin and Bare It?" Clearly, I think not!

You name your child what you like. Once the child is born it takes on the name you give it and gives it life. I've yet to get the "grin and bare it" comment since he's been born... but I do get a lot of what a cool name.

Then my second child's first and last name are commonly last names... and hers happens to be two president names... I get no comments about her name either.

I think the name you have chosen is beautiful. Don't let other people change your mind.

I myself don't care for it. It doesn't sound very pretty and feminine. But what matters is if you like it or not, after all we are not naming your child for you. Just like any other name you choose some will like it and some won't. Just keep in mind when making your choice that your daughter is the one that will have to live with your choice. Good Luck.

LENYN is a beautiful name and it does not matter what other people think and you just might name her something else when she is born. I was all set for Gabriella but my daughters name is Abigail I knew that would be her name the moment i saw her and that name was not even on my list.
