Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine.
This one, to me, means to be optimistic, even when everyone else is being pessimistic.

It's not having what you want, it's wanting what you've got (from Soak up the Sun by Sheryl Crow)
This one means to me to cherish what I have. If I had everything I wanted, I would probably be a snobby brat.

Love doesn't make the world go 'round. It makes the ride worthwhile.
This one, to me, means....well...what it says! Love makes life worth living.

Make the most of yourself, for that is all you have of you.
In other words, this means to love yourself and flaunt who you are, because there's only one you!

Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're right.
This one, to me, means that accomplishing something is all in the mind. You have to believe that you can do it in order to do it. You can't go anywhere by not believing in yourself.

Watch your thoughts, because they become words.
Watch your words, because they become actions.
Watch your actions, because they become habits.
Watch your habits, because they become you character.
Watch your character, because it's who you are.

These are just a few, as I am a quotaion freak.

"Love, known to the person by whom it is inspired, becomes more bearable." - Jean-Jacques Rousseau's "The Confessions

I think it becomes more bearable because only after you reveal your love will you know if they feel the same way or not.

This one I DO agree with, but many people may not:

"Ultimately the bond of all companionship, whether in marriage or in friendship, is conversation, and conversation must have a common basis, and between two people of widely different culture the only common basis possible is the lowest level."
- Oscar Wilde's "De Profundis"

What this means to me is that people think that opposites attract but in my experience they do not. They do not attract me, anyway (people the opposite of me seem to find me attractive although the feeling is not mutual).
And they certainly do not stay together. Because the relationship is based on sexual attraction & not on any solid basis.

I have two favorite quotes:
"Ambition is a dream with a V8 engine."
"Rhythm is something you either have or don't have, but once you have it, you have it all over."
Both by Elvis Presley.
I don't know what they mean to me, I just like them and they're my favorite quotes.

Every new beginning comes from some other beginnings end.
it means to me a lot of things. I found this when my husband passed away in a song by matchbox 20 the song closing time.
I had a beginning when I married my husband and when he died i had an ending. but to begin again you have to face an ending. understand. every beginning has an end. and then you begin with a new beginning. change is not always comfortable but it is inevitable. another of my favorites.

"You don't know this yet, but life isn’t supposed to be like this. It’s not supposed to be this hard."

It's a quote from Grey's Anatomy and its a personal quote for me. The episode was entitled "the self-destruct button" and it's about people who were going to extreme lengths to look better. one guy shot himself because it made his tatoos look cooler. the intern meredith grey said this to a female patient who had gastric bypass surgery in mexico (a horrible one that they were trying to undue because the girl was not even fat. in america, she would def. have not been considered a candidate at all for the surgery) and her mother kept blaming the girl, saying she was always trying to take the easy way out, and that she shouldnt be lazy, when the girl tries really hard to please her mother. life shouldnt be so hard where to have to please everyone. you should only have to please urself, and u dont have to go to extreme lengths just to have the cooler tatoo or avoid the freshman 15 (hence the reason why the girl got the surgery. she didnt want to gain weight).

"A birth-control pill for men, that's fair. It makes more sense to take the bullets out of the gun than to wear a bulletproof vest."

Enough said.

Napoleon expressed these thoughts while he was exiled on the rock of St. Helena. There, the conqueror of civilized Europe had time to reflect on the measure of his accomplishments. He called Count Montholon to his side and asked him, "Can you tell me who Jesus Christ was?" The count declined to respond. Napoleon countered:

Well then, I will tell you. Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne and I myself have founded great empires; but upon what did these creations of our genius depend? Upon force. Jesus alone founded His empire upon love, and to this very day millions will die for Him.... I think I understand something of human nature; and I tell you, all these were men, and I am a man: none else is like Him; Jesus Christ was more than man.... I have inspired multitudes with such an enthusiastic devotion that they would have died for me.... but to do this it was necessary that I should be visibly present with the electric influence of my looks, my words, of my voice. When I saw men and spoke to them, I lighted up the flame of self-devotion in their hearts.... Christ alone has succeeded in so raising the mind of man toward the unseen, that it becomes insensible to the barriers of time and space. Across a chasm of eighteen hundred years, Jesus Christ makes a demand which is beyond all others to satisfy; He asks for that which a philosopher may seek in vain at the hands of his friends, or a father of his children, or a bride of her spouse, or a man of his brother. He asks for the human heart; He will have it entirely to Himself. He demands it unconditionally; and forthwith His demand is granted. Wonderful! In defiance of time and space, the soul of man, with all its powers and faculties, becomes an annexation to the empire of Christ. All who sincerely believe in Him, experience that remarkable, supernatural love toward Him. This phenomenon is accountable; it is altogether beyond the scope of man's creative powers. Time, the great destroyer, is powerless to extinguish this sacred flame; time can neither exhaust its strength nor put a limit to its range. This is it, which strikes me most; I have often thought of it. This is which proves to me quite convincingly the Divinity of Jesus Christ."

What does it mean to me? To me it means that there is hope for anyone. That God is good and patient and long suffering not wanting anyone to perish but all to come to a knowledge of the truth. That He will humble the pround but preserve their lives in order to give them the opportunity to be saved through faith in Christ.
