The u.s helped create the state of Israel in the 1940s, so it has an interest in seeing it survive. The U.S. doesn't want this conflict any more than anyone else. They're already bogged down in Afghanistan and Iraq and have the situations in Sudan, Iran, and North Korea to deal with.
If you're asking if the U.S. should just leave the rest of the world alone, then sure. Let's allow Japan, Germany, and numerous other states around the world to militarize because the U.S. has left their territories. Let's see what happens if the U.S. pulls away from its influence in Pakistan, say. How long before there is a nuclear conflict between Islamabad and New Delhi?

varous countries have been fighting over the land where Isreal is since the beginning of time. When Ariel Sharon had his stroke and a new guy took his place, I think there was always a threat that something would happen sooner or later. THe fact that people fight in this region over this land about their beliefs is not a reason to blame the US. Find it hard to believe, but the US is not the cause of all strife in this world so back off!

The US does help the Palestinians. GHW Bush organized the treaty between Arafat's PLO and Sharon-which nabbed a Nobel for Arafat. Aside from that the US has pressured Israel to remove troops from the west bank and Gaza strip on different occasions. We do support Israel for a number of reasons. They are surrounded on all sides by enemies, plus Israel is more closly related to our principles. The US has fought wars in Korea and Vietnam to preserve such things, so why not support Israel? The Lebanon thing is due to the uproar against terrorism. If the US can go into Afghanistan and Iraq with less evidence they can't get on Israels case. Israel is backing US in the methods used to fight terrorists-it doesn't make sense to estrange them now.

I definatly think the world would be a much better place if it stayed out of others people's business.
And yes, America supports Israel, but there has been fueds, conflicts, and war in the middle East for 6500 years. I doubt it will ever end, no matter what anyone does.

The United States is huge and owns a lot of stuff. If the United States didn't become so big, no one would want to go after it. The poor countries get no attention. United States is rich with money, food, and power.

Don't forget the foreign aid the USA has poured into the Middle East over the years, not just to Israel but to other countries as well. And no, Israel didn't need anyone telling them to strike back at Hezbollah. They though the time had come for them to do it, and they did.

what america doesnt understand is that people are different, and you just dont try to impose your rules on some of these people because it just wont work, like democracy in the middle east.the middle east from beginning has been ruled by monarchs and kings, and then one day comes america and tells them that that is wrong and that they need democracy i.e a ruler chosen by the people?,it just wont work, and most of america still doesnt understand why.im not saying democracy is wrong im just saying its not right for everyone.israel and america have been alies for a long time, basically because the rich and successful jews who run america see israel as their ancestral home.america is the right country to lead the world down the right path, mainly because of its diversity of people, all america needs is the right kind of leader ,and bush isnt it.

The US sides with Israel because the PLO, Hamas, and Hezbollah stated purpose is to kill every Jew that is in the world.
If the US tried to take over everything in the world then they would have more territories than England did.
The US is NOT trying to over take everything in the world please get a clue to facts and not the Media bias!
