If it's minor then I handle it on my own. You really gotta pay attention to your symptoms though cause it can sometimes be faaarrr worse than you think. I found out the hard way. Thought I had a small bout of the flu one time & tried just sleeping & taking cold & flu meds like most people would do. That kicked my butt...ended up in the hospital for 3 days in horrible pain. Had a nasty virus that got into my intestines...it was NOT the flu!

At first, I try to handle it on my own and if it doesn't seem to be getting better after a couple days, I go to the doctor.

I stay as far away from the doctor as I possibly can. I have to be literally dying to go to the doctor. I try to handle it all on my own.

i handle it on m own unless nothing works and it wont go away. then i call the doctor cuz i hate going there.....lol

I handle it on my own. It has to be pretty bad before I see the Dr. My husband drives me crazy. He thinks he has to see a Dr. if he stubs his toe.

i try not to go to the doctor unless there is clearly something serious wrong that i cannot fix (broken limb, kidney stone, hockey puck to the teeth, etc...). guess i grew up in a house with the attitude of "heal thyself".
