We're going shopping for my engagement ring in a few weeks, and this hasn't been brought up by him. I told him a few years ago that I will convert sooner or later, but I'm pretty sure he's forgotten about it. He has told me that his parents could careless that I'm not Jewish.

What is going on and shouldn't this be a big issue for him?

Do you want to convert just for him, or are you truly thinking of converting because that's what you are feeling in your heart. I don't blame him for not asking such a personal question. I wouldn't want someone to convert to my religion just because I am of that religion. When it comes to that, it is something strictly personal between you and God. I understand why he wouldn't want to get in the way of that.
