You have to have a cd burner, burning program, and a cdr. First save the document to your hard drive, then open up your burning program and click make a data disk, then browse for the file you have saved and then select the file you have just made on ms word and initiate teh burn process.

While these answers are technically correct, your question is slightly flawed. 1st get a flash drive. Use that. Second save your Word documents to your hard drive and then burn to CD. If the CD becomes lost or scratched you have a copy on the drive.
When you infect your hard or it crashes, you will have a copy on CD.

1. Your computer needs to have a CDRW or DVDRW writer.
2. Your computer needs to have software to burn data to the CD/DVD, like Nero or Roxio. Or you could use the in-built Windows software. Just drag n drop the files onto the CD folder after you have inserted a blank media inside.
