when your speed gets up that high you start runing into bandwidth problems on the servers with which you connect. in other words, the other person is slowing you down. to fix it only connect to servers that are unpopulated and have a 1500k minimum speed, unfortunately they don't exist.

I'll try to explain this simply, but for DSL...

Theres a main server which connects you to the internet, and depending on how far away you are from the main server,
that's how fast your connection will always be.

By the way, if your talking about your download speed, try something like Flashget, it works great because it splits the download into separate parts and so that way it downloads faster.

If you get a correction, let me know as I have been working with Comcast for ages on the same problem. A tech has been to my home a time or two but to no appreciable results.

My speed is only slightly better than dial up
